10th Dubai International Project Management Forum

Last week, Ewa Palarczyk had the honor of attending and speaking at the 10th Dubai International Project Management Forum. This year’s edition focused on four fundamental themes: sustainable cities, transformation, jobs of the future, and future-centric project management.

The conference created a fantastic platform for discussions on sustainability from multiple perspectives. Interestingly, rather than prioritizing regulations and compliance, the focus shifted toward human impacts—emphasizing new skills, technology’s role in sustainability, and the transformation of cities and businesses.

Key Takeaways from Ewa’s Presentation – “Building Tomorrow: Sustainable Strategies and Value Chains in Project Management”:

  1.  Shared Responsibility – Actors across the entire value chain hold joint responsibility for environmental and social goals.
  2. Balancing Priorities – Sustainability objectives often conflict with individual business goals, requiring new frameworks for alignment.
  3. Evolving Roles – New roles and responsibilities at the portfolio, program, and project levels are emerging to support sustainable strategies.
  4. Sustainable Procurement – Procurement practices can extend to PPM management across the value chain, fostering sustainable transformation.

Collaboration is Key – Partnerships alone won’t be enough to combat climate change—education, best practices, and shared lessons learned are essential for developing new industry standards.

The theme “Sustainable Future” aligns perfectly with the EU’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global connectivity. This year’s forum brought together global leaders in a collective effort to take conscious, strategic actions that will drive both economic and environmental progress.
